Ever find yourself in need of a seamstress? Then you should consider Kathy Kefalas. SFluxe hasn’t used her services since we have all our clothes imported from exotic international locale like Guatemala and Bangladesh, but Tatiana Sorokko, known for wearing vintage designer pieces upside down and inside out (I know it doesn’t sound good, but she always pulls it off), praises her work in the current NHG. If Kefalas can turn vintage Jacques Fath into something that looks like tomorrow’s Balenciaga, just think what she can do for you.

“Unlike many collectors, Sorokko is comfortable altering her vintage treasures to make them her own. “I recently bought a 1964 Jeanne Lanvin from the William Doyle Auction Galleries in New York. The cut was divine but one side was discolored, so I had it sent to an embroidery house in Paris. A piece with a great past and contemporary work is a killer combination.” She cites the skill of her seamstress, Kathy Kefalas, as a key ingredient in modifying her pieces to her purpose.”
