Emanuel Ungaro designer Peter Dundas (seen above with Michele Hicks and Melissa George) is spending the week in California, and from the look of things he’s a huge hit.

His early collections for Ungaro received mixed reviews as he tried to create a vision for the label, but Fall ‘08 (which will be shown in San Francisco on Thursday night) shows that he knows exactly what he’s doing. With this collection, Dundas is becoming the designer of choice for a silky, sexy, seductive kind of woman.

Merle Ginsberg went to the show in Los Angeles last night and reports that Dundas was bombarded by hugs and kisses from his new fans.

Guests at the show included Raquel Welch and Peggy Moffitt (above), Arianne Phillips, Marley Shelton, Ginnifer Goodwin, Zoe Bell, Kate Mara, Kelly Carlson, Daisy Fuentes, and Alana Stewart. Dave Navarro and Donovan Leitch were also there, but I don’t think they had any kisses for Dundas.

Katie Traina (above, in Ungaro) and hubby Todd hosted an after party at Bar Marmont. Katie is friends with Asim Abdullah, who owns the French label with his wife in San Francisco — which is exactly where Dundas and company will be on Thursday and Friday (he’ll be making an in-store appearance at Neiman’s on Friday.)
