Living Well in San Francisco

Pacific Heights, No. 80

Pacific Heights ranks as number 80 on “The Elite 100: America’s Wealthiest Neighborhoods” — a list compiled by Stephen Higley, an Associate Professor of Urban Geography in Alabama. It is only one of three such neighborhoods located within a major city (the others are Washington Park in Seattle, and the western part of Chester Hill in Philadelphia.) The number one neighborhood is the Round Hill-North Greenwich area of Greenwich, Connecticut.

According to his research, the racial demographic of Pacific Heights is 0.9% Black, 6.6% Asian, 1.1% Hispanic and 85.4% Non-Hispanic White. The mean household income is $303,876 — and if that seems low to you too, that’s because they probably took the survey when Larry Ellison was out of town.
