There’s a cool new website that specializes in giving shopping tips to travelers. It’s called Indagare.com and you should check it out. FAVORITE RESTAURANT: “I am excited to try Tim Stannard’s new restaurant, Spruce (3640 Sacramento St.), which is opening soon. He also owns the delightful Village Pub in Woodside. I always love the venerable BIX (56 Gold St.; 415-433-6300; www.bixrestaurant.com), a throwback to 1940s supper clubs, with delicious American fare, waiters decked out in white and a piano player entertaining until midnight.”

FAVORITE BOUTIQUES: “The Candy Store (1507 Vallejo St.; 415-921-8000; www.thecandystoresf.com) has the most darling old-fashioned candy ever! The wonderful Bell’Occhio (10 Brady St.; 415-864-4048; www.bellocchio.com) is a teeny shop straight out of Paris that’s been around for years. It sells the most gorgeous keepsakes, treasures and stocking stuffers. For children, go to Mudpie (1694 Union St.; 415-771-9262), which has darling, old-fashioned clothes, accessories, basinets and linens.
