The de Young Museum’s collections of art from Africa, Oceania, and the Americas and the Textiles collection have been city treasures for many years. With the opening of the de Young, these collections were celebrated with large, state-of-the-art galleries that will preserve for generations to come.

The Gala Preview Opening of the San Francisco Tribal & Textile Arts Show benefits the galleries for Textiles and for the arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas in the de Young Museum – 50% of the permanent collection gallery space in the new building. The evening features the culinary offerings of McCall & Associates catering live entertainment, and the very best national and international art dealers and their treasures. All proceeds from this event will be devoted to the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco
