Oscar Winner Jennifer Hudson to Perform Live as the 2008 Headliner

WHAT: Help Raise Healthy Children” Gala tickets are now on sale and they have

announced that Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, musical legend Marvin Hamlisch and nationally acclaimed youth fitness group, The Bouncing Bulldogs will perform live for the annual “Help Raise Healthy Children Gala,” a black tie fundraiser dedicated to fighting childhood obesity and its harmful effects.

The star-studded event will honor Alice Waters for her groundbreaking work in the Berkeley public schools, including the creation of The Edible Schoolyard, as well as for her years of dedication to public policy initiatives that seek to end childhood obesity in America. Ms. Waters will create the menu for the pre-gala dinner, which will be held in San Francisco’s City Hall Rotunda. Former President Bill Clinton and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger have been named Honorary Chairs for the benefit.

WHEN: Monday January 14, 2008

Cocktail Reception: 5:00 pm
Dinner: 6:00 pm
Performance: 8:00 pm

WHY: Proceeds from the gala will go to Alice Waters’ Chez Panisse Foundation

as well as to three pre-eminent Northern California hospitals for their work in bringing public attention to this growing epidemic: San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center, Oakland Children’s Hospital and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
