David Nash and Larry Block hosted a Boys Only Birthday Dinner in honor of Tatiana Sorokko, at Butterfly Restaurant on Pier 33 last Friday.

Twenty of Sorokko’s favorite “boys” came out for the intimate waterfront fete. Ralph Rucci surprised the still thirty-something by flying out from New York to join in the festivities, as did friend and fellow designer, James Galanos (check out this month’s Vanity Fair for pictures from Nancy Reagan – a First Lady’s Style inaugural gala).

The dinner table was peppered with many of S.F.’s well-dressed gentlemen including: Neiman Marcus G.M., John Capizzi; Ken Moore; food critic Michael Bauer and Michael Murphy; Richard Snyder and Paul Wiseman (who jumped right off a flight from Portland and into a taxi to make it to the table as the first course was being served); Michael Tilson Thomas (direct from a Symphony performance) and Joshua Robison; Ted Hiscox and Derek Barnes; vintage dealer Ricky Serbin (who appears alongside such designers as Rucci and Galanos in the new Charlie Scheips book American Fashion) and Mitchell Benjamin; Michael McDonald; Glenn Riddell and Robert Butler.

Assemblyman Mark Leno presented Sorokko with a California State Resolution, honoring her philanthropy and devotion to the arts, both in, and beyond our community.

Butterfly’s owner and Executive Chef, Rob Lam, prepared the amazing dinner, coming out to applause at the meal’s conclusion.
