We checked in with vintage clothing dealer Ricky Serbin and found out he recently attended the Lexus Fashion Preview at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in the beautiful Monterey Peninsula! He was there with Vogue’s Sally Singer, host of the event.  We’re so jealous!

“The fashion show was great, stronger than usual. I think after three years they are really getting the show to super, Vogue-worth perfection,” says Ricky, who is the only west coast CFDA member to go to the event each year (the CFDA is the Council of Fashion Designers of America.)

He was especially impressed by San Francisco designer Alexander Wang.

The show revealed the collections from the finalists of the prestigious CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund, the industry’s search for talent who will emerge as the next great American designers. The collections shared the spotlight with Lexus’ sleekest new automobiles, including the LF-A Roadster concept vehicle, and the Pebble Beach Collection, special edition vehicles that commemorate the brand’s partnership with the Pebble Beach Resorts.

The CFDA finalists for 2008 are: Richard Chai, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, Irene Neuwirth, Albertus Q. Swanepoel of Albertus Quartus, Alejandro Ingelmo, Juan Carlos Obando, Swaim and Christina Hutson of Obedient Sons & Daughters, John Patrick of Organic, Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock of Vena Cava.
