Peter Thiel (photo via VentureBeat.)
He’s number 377 today. Next year, we’re betting at least 250. We’re referring to Peter Thiel’s ranking on the Forbes 400 Richest People in America list. You have to be worth at least $1.3 billion to make it, and 40-year old, part-time San Franciscan Peter Thiel just squeezed by with that number. It’s Thiel’s first time on the list, and we’re sure it won’t be his last!

It was the book party to end all book parties. Last week Melanie and Larry Ellison opened up their Pacific Heights home to celebrate the publication of “Green Goes With Everything,” by Sloan Barnett, bringing out some of the most impressive names in technology, philanthropy, business and entertainment.

Sloan has spent the last year-and-half researching and writing the book — her first (and surely not her last!) — and was clearly excited to be able to share it with her closest friends and other well wishers.

As an Internet company, Google is an active participant in policy debates surrounding information access, technology and energy. “A studly, Bunyanesque figure who showed too much chest and wore an expensive watch on each wrist, Taylor denied himself nothing and thought his clients should do the same.”
The New York Times “T” Magazine ran a wonderful profile of the late great Michael Taylor this weekend, and reminded us of how much more exciting the world of interior design used to be in San Francisco. While we do have some wonderful designers (David Kensington, Orlando Diaz-Azcuy, Ann Getty, Ken Fulk, etc..) we do have to ask where is the pizazz?
“THE …

Because of the positive response we received to our item about the Porzincola Nuova, we’ve decided to follow up with some information on how artists from the Academy of Art University have contributed to the very special project.
Thanks to Larissa Dozier, from the AAU, we have all the details (see below).
San Francisco will soon become an international site for peace pilgrimage, by housing the sole scale replica in the world of Saint Francis of Assisi’s famed Porziuncola, his beloved stone chapel in Italy.

Joel Goodrich (right) with Maria Ehmer, chatting with Manolo Blahnik at Neiman Marcus this week.
Today we are pleased to see that Miss Olive, of Olive and Friends, has published Joel Goodrich’s unique recipe for his daily morning shake. One of San Francisco’s leading realtors (TRI Coldwell Banker), and our favorite man about town, he is known for his unflagging energy and optimism. We’re not saying he owes it all to his magic SuperShake… but if this drink is responsible for a tenth of his energy and health, it’s something you …

Tommy Hilfiger was accompanied in San Francisco last week by Dee Ocleppo, showing that they are still very much together, despite a recent change in marriage plans (the couple had made it into the gossip columns a few weeks ago after calling off their August wedding in Mustique. While one internet gossip page says Tommy has reunited with his ex-wife, Susie, we tend to think its mistaken.)
