In speaking recently with Sobia Shaikh, one of the co-chairs (along with Stephanie Tuttle) for the San Francisco Opera Guild’s holiday celebration, ‘Tis the Season, we found out there is still an opportunity to purchase tickets, if people act quickly.

The December 2nd, 2008, event, held at Alexandra’s at the top of the Westin St. Francis, is going to be a truly glamorous and fun way to kickoff the holiday season.  And with views over a sparkling Union Square, there is hardly a more festive location for it!

Food for the evening is from the best restaurants in the city — Masa’s, Michael Mina, Quince, Aqua, Farina — to name a few.  And Sobia tells us “The DJ, Jayme Thaler of Sheep & Wolf, is flying in from New York for the evening!”

Aside from just having a good time, participation in the event ensures that the San Francisco Opera Guild will continue their tradition of introducing children to the beauty and excitement of opera through educational outreach programs. A portion of the proceeds from ‘Tis the Season will fund performances at various health, youth and senior agencies during the month of December.
