The trades recently confirmed that Forrest Whitaker has officially joined the cast of Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming ensemble action flick, The Expendables, and now comes word, straight from Sly’s mouth, that another Oscar winner may be joining the cast as well.

While leaving a restaurant Stallone, who wrote the script and will star and direct, told some Paparazzi that Ben Kingsley in talks to join the film. The cast already includes Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Robert Knepper and Dolph Lundgren. Production is scheduled to begin in March in Brazil.

The Expendables centers on a group of mercenaries who are sent to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator to liberate the population. Their team is “expendable,” hired to do jobs that no one else can or will.
