Philanthropist Boutique in Presidio Heights recently hosted a cocktail party in honor of its new quarterly charity recipient, Children of Shelters. The cocktail reception was a kick-off event for Children of Shelters’ annual Jingle & Mingle and SantaFest parties, with food and drink at the event generously donated by Charles Creek Vineyard, Hint, and Sweet Jo’s Cafe at the JCC.

The evening’s sales proceeds were generously matched by Philanthropist owner Jessica Moment and her husband Jason. All boutique profits through December 31, 2009, will go to Children of Shelters.

After the cocktail event, Philanthropist held a private dinner at Spruce Restaurant in honor of special guest jewelry designer Temple St. Clair and Children of Shelters. Honorary dinner hosts were board members Vandy Boudreau, Heidi Castelein and Summer Tompkins Walker.

Dinner guests perused the designer’s distinctive collection. Set table-side were rare-colored gemstone cuff bracelets, cocktail rings, earrings and necklaces, all beautifully set in 18 carat yellow and rose gold.

Children of Shelter provides for the educational and emotional needs of the estimated 4,000 children living in or being served by transitional shelters in San Francisco. Children of Shelters’ two signature fundraising events have become a holiday tradition for many.

This year’s Jingle & Mingle will be held Thursday December 3rd, 2009, at The Officer’s Club in The Presidio. Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception and signature hors d’oeuvres served by San Francisco’s finest restaurants while bidding on amazing designer wreaths in a festive holiday setting.

SantaFest on Saturday, December 5th, 2009, is a morning family party that features crafts, decorations, and a visit with Santa. General tickets will be available soon, and sponsorship levels are available now.
