The Bravo talk-show lineup is starting to look like the Lexington Avenue subway at rush hour.
The cable channel, famous for the “Real Housewives” shows, is now in talks with Jenny McCarthy to do a talk show, according to sources.
If she is signed, it would be Bravo’s third talk-show move in less than a month.
Bravo announced over the weekend that comedienne Kathy Griffin will be starting a weekly talk show for the network early this year.
And Bravo boss Andy Cohen’s eccentric late-night show, “Watch What Happens Live,” last night started on a new schedule that will see it go from two nights a week to five.
News that McCarthy, 39, may also now be in line for a show strongly indicates that Bravo is beginning to push beyond the boundaries of the now-familiar docu-soaps — like “Housewives” and “Top Chef” — that the network was built on.
McCarthy made a secret pilot last summer at the NBC-owned studios in Stamford, Conn. — the same studio where “Jerry Springer” and “Maury” are taped each week.
The pilot, according to those who have seen it, has a similar feel to Chelsea Handler’s nightly “Chelsea Lately” show on E!.
NBC also owns Bravo.
“Next year you will see something,” McCarthy told the Hollywood Reporter. “I can’t say what, but it is already signed, sealed, delivered.”
