Photos have emerged online of the luxury birthing suite where Beyoncé welcomed daughter Blue Ivy Carter into the world.
The former Destiny’s Child star and hubby Jay-Z, who became parents for the first time last weekend, are said have paid $ 800-a-night for the use of the VIP room at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.
The images of Bey’s delivery room show that her suite had four flat-screen TVs, grey and cream sofas and a cosy looking bed – which Jigga reportedly relaxed on.
An hospital official told TMZ: “There are 7 suites in the VIP section where Beyonce gave birth. Each executive suite costs between $ 700 and $ 800 a night.”
The celebrity gossip website also states that each of the suites have “reconfigurable designs” – meaning that the dividing walls between the seven rooms can be expanded into one big suite.
TMZ claims that in Queen B’s case, she is thought to have used at least four suites at a cost of around $ 3,200-a-night, which is cheaper than the rumoured $ 1.3million the Carter’s were thought to have coughed up for hiring the entire fourth floor maternity ward.
Those reports were later denied by the hospital, who said in a statement: “The suggestion that the couple paid $ 1.3 million to rent an entire maternity floor is simply not true.”
In other related news, Blue Ivy has made US Billboard chart history after becoming the youngest artist ever to appear in the countdown, following the news that Jay-Z’s song Glory – which features the newborn’s cries – made its debut at No.74.
