The one and only Anne Hathaway is making headlines this week (but when isn’t she, these days?) We saw this interesting article about her today – please read it at this link: Anne Hathaway, Kate Winslet read for Audible.com’s A-list collection – Washington Post . Here’s an excerpt from it, below:

Audio books are great for readers who don’t have that much free time, which probably describes most of us. But have you ever felt like those timesavers would be even better if famous people were reading them? No? Maybe? Yes for the sake of this article?

Good. Because Audible.com has announced an A-list collection of classic novels read by Susan Sarandon, Anne Hathaway, Colin Firth, Dustin Hoffman, Kate Winslet, Hilary Swank, Samuel L. Jackson, Annette Bening, Jennifer Connelly, Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Meg Ryan and Kim Basinger.

The four books currently available will each set you back $14.95, if you aren’t a member of the Web site.

Audible.com has released a preview of Hathaway reading L. Frank Baum’s “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” and it’s particularly animated. The actress has been criticized for her over-the-top, theater-kid energy in the past, but she seems at home doing a range of quirky voices. Although, it’s easy to see how three hours and 49 minutes of this could drive a person crazy.

Watch Hathaway’s preview, as well as clips of Winslet reading “Therese Raquin,” Sarandon reading “The Member of the Wedding” and Jackson reading “A Rage in Harlem,” below.
