The availability of Galaxy Beam on Samsung e-store has given rise to speculation that the company is on the verge of releasing the device in the domestic market. However, presently there are no details about its launch date on the website. Previously, Samsung was expected to roll out the device in South West Asia in May 2012, but postponed it.
Galaxy Beam, or GT-I8530, is a high-end smartphone with an in-built nHD projector. The company claims that it can project crisp videos, photos and slideshows on a 50-inch wide screen via its 15 lumens pico projector.
Samsung Galaxy Beam is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and can project videos for 3 hours via its 2000 mAh battery. Other specifications of the device include 4 inch wide touchscreen, 5 MP rear camera with LED flash, video recording at 720p, 768MB RAM and 8GB internal memory (extendable up to 32 GB via microSD card).
Samsung announced Galaxy Beam at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in February. It succeeds the original Beam smartphone in the Korean manufacturer’s line-up.
