The last remaining Bee Gee, Barry Gibb says his “greatest regret” is losing all his brothers during times of conflict.
“Gibb, the last remaining Bee Gee, announced on Sunday that he will be returning to Australia next year to launch his international Mythology tour in Sydney on February 8.
“The tour comes four months since the death of his brother Robin, and will pay tribute to the success Barry and his brothers, have achieved in the music industry over the past five decades.
“Born in England, the Gibb brothers – Barry, Robin, Maurice and Andy, moved to Australia with their parents in the 1950s where they lived in Redcliffe, Queensland.
“It was there that Barry, Robin and Maurice formed the Bee Gees in 1958 before ambition drove them overseas.
“During their careers, which included nine Grammy award wins, the three brothers were united by ambition, Gibb told the Seven Network.
“”The three of us became like one person. We all had the same dream,” he said in an interview aired on the Sunday Night program.
“”That’s what I miss more than anything else.”
“Gibb, 66, said he still couldn’t reconcile himself to the fact that he was the last brother left, having lost Andy in 1988, Maurice in 2003 and Robin in May.
“”My greatest regret is that every brother I have lost was in a moment when we were not getting on,” Gibb said.
“”I don’t know why, but I’m the last one standing. I will never be able to understand that because I’m the eldest.”
“Gibb said his brothers would be on stage with him when he starts his Mythology tour.
“”We just didn’t agree on everything and that was the way life was. But boy did we have some fun.”
“Tickets go on sale from October 5. Pre-sale tickets for Live Nation members can be bought from September 28.
