Obama’s job approval rating stablizies

Rasmussen Reports’ daily presidential tracking poll for Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, indicates that 53 percent of voters approve of President Obama’s job performance – at least somewhat approve. Forty-six percent disapprove – at least somewhat disapprove. This rating is identical to yesterday’s which indicated a decline of two percent compared to earlier in the week when the president peaked at a 55-percent approval rating. The poll indicates that 93 percent of Democrats approve while 82 percent of Republicans disapprove. Of the voters who say they are not affiliated with any political Party, 44 percent approve and 54 percent disapprove. The disapproval among non-affiliated voters has been growing since the election and has grown three percent alone in the past day. Regarding the nation’s “fiscal cliff” threat, 60 percent believe the president and Congress should extend the tax cuts. Others believe that the over-spending in the nation’s capital must stop. Fifty-one percent believe a deal will be reached to avoid a tax increase at the end of this year.

In other new polls conducted by Rasmussen, 53 percent of voters polled favor Bush tax cuts for all but the wealthy. Fifty-four percent of voters polled are pro-choice and 38 percent are pro-life. Only 7 percent of voters polled believe the United States is winning the “war on drugs”.
