Chelsea midfield target Bernard has admitted that he would love to play for the club, though the Brazilian has insisted that there have been no talks so far about a possible move to Stamford Bridge. Bernard has starred for Atletico Mineiro in Brazil since his move from the youth side to the senior team, and as a result has garnered interest from clubs abroad. Chelsea have a very thorough scouting network in Brazil, and after confirming the signing of young defender Wallace this week, their assault on the South Amercian market looks set to continue, as they look to create a new generation of players who are able to challenge for trophies. Rafa Benitez confirmed last week that Frank Lampard will likely leave the west London club in the summer, and with a midfielder looking to be on the list for whoever is managing the club come the next transfer window, it’s believed that Bernard would serve as a good long term replacement for the stalwart. And he admits to being flattered by the links to Chelsea, though there haven’t been any discussions over a deal yet…MORE Click here to read the rest of “Chelsea Brazilian Midfield Target Flattered By Interest”. |

John Aldridge has argued that Liverpool fans will not accept loan signings in the January transfer window, with the club in desperate need of new permanent faces as they look to challenge for a top four spot. The Reds’ struggles in the summer transfer window has been well documented, as Andy Carroll departed the club on deadline day and they were unable to land a replacement striker before the clock struck 11pm. Luis Suarez has been outstanding up front for the side this season, but Liverpool need support for the Uruguayan, and Aldridge believes that only permanent signings will put the club in contention for the Champions League. “Chairman Tom Werner has said the fans will be happy with the business Liverpool do in January but just recently, the manager has been playing it all down,” he wrote in the Liverpool Echo . “Brendan Rodgers has been saying there will be business, but not big business. “Supporters, understandably, are sceptical and worried about what is going to happen next month but hopefully Brendan is saying this so that clubs don’t think we’ll be spending a lot of money

The US retailer ran a series of digital ads of scantily clad women, one of which appeared to sexualise a model who appeared to be under 16 years old. US retailer American Apparel has been accused of ‘sexually suggestive and gratuitous imagery’ after it used models who appear to be under the age of 16 in a selection of its adverts. The high-street brand, which has been censured before for breaking advertising guidelines, posted a string of provocative ads on its website promoting tights and a range of coloured T-shirts. In one of the adverts a woman only wearing a pair of high denier tights bends forwards with her back to the camera. Another one shows “young-looking women” modelling a revealing shirt in different colours. Both campaigns are said to have used exploitative images of young women, and have been banned by the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) in the UK. A probe was launched after the watchdog received a complaint from a mother who attempted to visit the website with her 12-year-old daughter

French authorities did not reveal what substance had been detected, but described it as “non-performance enhancing.” The famous rider’s lawyers said the 41-year-old had received a “sympathetic hearing” from stewards.” Speaking after the ban was announced, his legal representative Christopher Stewart-Moore said the former champion jockey, who is a household name in Britain, blamed himself. “He is enormously grateful for the opportunities that he has been given by owners and trainers over the years, and for the support of his many fans,” said Stewart-Moore. “For this reason he is determined to rebuild his reputation when he returns to the saddle. “Frankie could make excuses. He has, after all, regularly been tested for prohibited substances throughout his career
