The US retailer ran a series of digital ads of scantily clad women, one of which appeared to sexualise a model who appeared to be under 16 years old. US retailer American Apparel has been accused of ‘sexually suggestive and gratuitous imagery’ after it used models who appear to be under the age of 16 in a selection of its adverts. The high-street brand, which has been censured before for breaking advertising guidelines, posted a string of provocative ads on its website promoting tights and a range of coloured T-shirts. In one of the adverts a woman only wearing a pair of high denier tights bends forwards with her back to the camera. Another one shows “young-looking women” modelling a revealing shirt in different colours. Both campaigns are said to have used exploitative images of young women, and have been banned by the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) in the UK. Philips, LG Electronics , Samsung SDI and three other firms were fined a record 1.47 billion euros ($1.92 billion) by EU antitrust regulators for fixing prices of TV and monitor cathode-ray tubes for nearly a decade. The European Commission slapped the biggest penalty, of 313.4 million euros, on Dutch-based Philips on Wednesday. LG Electronics came in second with a 295.6 million euro fine. The EU competition authority fined Panasonic Corp 157.5 million euros, Samsung SDI 150.8 million euros, Toshiba Corp. 28 million euros, and French company Technicolor 38.6 million euros. Ruling body French Galop found him guilty after being handed the findings of a review by medics following a drugs test in September. The two Australian radio presenters, Mel Greig and Michael Christian, called the hospital and pretended to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles. Entertainment to its channel offerings. The three channels will be rolled out across the digital service “in the coming weeks” BT said, and will also include “from early in 2013, a slew of programs on demand.” Shows airing on Universal Channel includes U.K. premieres of U.S. crime franchises Law&Order: Special Victims Unit and Criminal Intent, as well as hits  Rookie Blue and Flashpoint
