Reema Kagti’s second directorial venture “Talaash: The Answer Lies Within” has remained the first choice of moviegoers, especially in the overseas market. The suspense thriller, which stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee, is a hit movie at overseas box offices, despite new release “Khiladi 786″. The second week collections of “Talaash” was much better than the opening weekend of Akshay Kumar’s latest film “Khiladi 786″, according to trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh. After its second weekend, “Talaash” collected approximately ₹6.22 crore (£ 713,552) at the UK box office, ₹13.05 crore ($ 2,397,909) at the US box office, ₹3.21 crore (A$ 564,459) at the Australian box office and ₹85.16 lacs in New Zealand and Fiji. HSBC said on Tuesday it will pay a fine of $1.92 billion in a deferred prosecution agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice over the London -based bank’s inadequate compliance with anti-money laundering laws. “We accept responsibility for our past mistakes. HSBC Holdings Plc is expected to become the first bank to admit to both money-laundering lapses and U.S. sanctions violations on Tuesday as part of a settlement of around $1.8 billion with law enforcement agencies, according to people familiar with the situation. The settlement, which will be in the form of a deferred-prosecution agreement, is the largest by far that a U.S. or European bank has agreed to amid a crackdown in the United States. Reuters reported last week that London-based HSBC would be forced to pay the $1.8 billion and that criminal charges would be deferred. In November, HSBC said the total penalty could exceed $1.5 billion. Details about the settlement could come around midday on Tuesday (12 noon EST) in a presentation by the U.S.

India ’s Sensex is expected to remain range bound on Tuesday as investors are likely to remain cautious ahead of the meeting of the U.S. Federal Reserve ‘s Open Market Committee. Investors are expecting the Federal Reserve to announce the extension of the $85 billion purchase of securities each month when Operation Twist, its maturity extension programme, ends on Dec 31. On Monday, Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average was down 0.29 percent, or 27.46 points, to 9506.29.
